It is protected by a double-sealed screw-down cap that reliably prevents moisture ingress. Developed at the factory, the system uses internal and external caps that are loosely coupled: they stay together while moving independently. As the outer cap is tightened, the inner cap remains stationary and is pressed firmly against the silicone gasket in the threaded sleeve. Air is introduced to create excess pressure. If the case has even a minute leak, pressure inside the watch begins to equalise. The watch is then lowered into water and the chamber pressure is returned to normal. Escaping air forms a stream of bubbles at the leak point, allowing technicians to verify water resistance quickly and identify the precise location of any fault.
